Canterbury Festivals: Lounge On The Farm Bigger Than Last Year

The annual Canterbury based festival Lounge On The Farm, is to be twice the size of last year's festival.

The festival, running from the 8th to the 10th of July in Canterbury's picturesque Merton Farm, is now in its sixth year and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The festival has scored in coup in securing the services of the royal wedding performer Ellie Goulding, prog legends Echo And The Bunnymen, and one of the final festival performances from Mike Skinner's The Streets.

The Streets have confirmed that they are splitting up
Further down the bill reveals some of the guaranteed 'next big things' set to headline festivals in the next few years in the shape of blog darlings The Vaccines, NME favourites Everything Everything, the new queen of dubstep Katy B, and the grunge masters The Joy Formidable.

With the festival site being much smaller than your average Glastonbury or Reading, ticket holders will get to see these names in much more intimate conditions than perhaps they would on their individual tours and certainly at those other festivals throughout the summer, and all for much cheaper too; the three day tickets are priced at £101 for a student.

Previous bands to grace the main stage have since become an integral part of the big league. Bands such as The XX, The Temper Trap, The Horrors, Wild Beasts, These New Puritans, The Coral, Mystery Jets, Frankie And The Heartstrings and even The New York Dolls have visited Canterbury in previous years and this years shindig looks set to top even these legendary line ups.

So grab a ticket, and head on down to the farm. We'll meet you in the mud.
